I couldn't take it any more.

I had to fly.

I asked my boss, sure I could leave early he said.

I checked the schedule, the plane was available. I called Mischa, he was game. He knew I was coming from work and we would be tight on time so he offered to pre-flight her for me. Depending on what time I got there, we'd either do some hood work, or just shoot some landings.
