My CFI approved the flight planning last night.

Up early this morning to check get a fresh weather briefing. Everything is looking good for this trip. The winds are light, no storms this morning, unlike the other weekend. The new path I like better than the one I had scheduled before, so it's probably good that other weekend got postponed.

For those following along at home, today's flight will be from GKY to FWS to SEP via JEN VOR up to RPH.

return flight from RPH to AFW to GKY

if I remember later I'll dig up the file a friend put together for me that you can load into google earth and fly the path yourself. :) Although the sat resolution gets a bit low heading west of DFW.

It's pretty neat, one of my friends just im'd me. See you in Graham. :) Sounds like I'll have a welcoming committee at my destination this morning. A bunch of my friends are all heading out early to a pancake fly-in and then back to RPH to meet me. :)

The morning the alarm goes off at 5:15.

I don't even get up this early to go to work!

Drag myself out of bed, and log on the computer and check the weather. Things are looking good at home, at each of my main stops. The forecast looks good. I make a few more notes on my flight plan and call a briefer. I get the briefing and even she is telling me that it'll be a nice day today.
