What's the problem - lesson 18
Jul. 8th, 2006 07:53 pmMischa decided that we'd do some split control work. The first time around I'd take the rudders, he'd take the ailerons. After that, we'd switch it up. But first we'll head west for just a few warm up maneuvers. He calls for slow flight, I am slow getting the plane slowed down. Then he starts playing withe flaps wanting me to keep it from losing altitude. 508 has 40 degrees of flaps. 508 at 2600 feet won't hardly hold altitude with 40 degrees of flaps and full power. We won't even ask about climbing. I ran out of nose up trim trying to get it to fly hands off. This is a good thing to know, to experience. We go ahead and stall it, I recover and clean it up. A bit slow on braking the stall again. Remember that phrase, a bit slow. It seems to show up a lot today.
