Ran across this over on The Register..

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2004/05/28/plagarist_student/

English student is kicked out of the program at the University of Kent.. he admits that he did plagiarize, but he's suing the university because they should have caught him earlier and told him it was bad...

Okay, I don't get it. How do you get to the age of 21 and NOT know it's wrong to plagiarize a paper? He has already said he knew he was plagiarizing... so now he's going to sue because he was caught and kicked out of his program?!?

What happened to personal integrity and responsibility? I think that the Univ of Kent did the right thing. He should be kicked out of the program. It's written up in the guidelines and I can't see how ANYONE can manage NOT to get the "it is bad to plagiarize" lecture in at LEAST one of the classes in college.

Folks like this cheapen college awarded degrees everywhere. If they aren't buying their papers, they are stealing them verbatim off the Internet.

What do you think?
